BYO Horse Trek
About the Event
- Picturesque loops to be ridden anticlockwise on grass/stone tracks over the farm
- Arrive before 10am and ride as many loops as you like (closing 3pm)
- $50 per rider per day (book one or both days)
The farm offers two shorter loops of approximately 3km of rolling terrain (suitable for moderately fit horses) and one longer hour-long 5km loop that is very steep in places (up and down) and is only suitable for fitter horses and riders.
There is approximately 5km of narrow gravel public road on the way in. Take it slowly! A short river or bridge crossing is required to enter the property and there are two further shallow creek crossings.
This ride is suitable for competent, confident riders who are able to dismount and remount from the ground, particularly if riding the longer loop. There may be mounting blocks available at the shed but they will not be available on the loops. The ride is not suitable for beginner riders or green horses. Please assess your own abilities carefully.
Please bring your own food and drink (can be transported to the shed for you), and, if required. hay for your horses. Riders can have lunch at the shed if desired, and there will be places to tie up and water for the horses at the shed. Tea and coffee provided. Composting toilet available.
Parking is limited, on a grassy but not totally flat paddock, so there are limited places available on this ride. Please note the type of vehicle you are bringing when booking (single float, double float, small truck). The parking area is not suitable for large trucks.
This is a fundraiser for the Greens.
